NuKids: Kids + Cooking = Hands-on Fun!
Kids are naturally creative and adventurous and the kitchen is the perfect place for self-expression. We educate and engage kids ages 6-12 in solid nutrition principles coupled with fun and easy recipes.

NuTeens: Cooking is a Gateway to Adulthood
Learning to cook is an important rite of passage for teens. NuTeen culinary classes will give your teen the confidence and skill to prepare meals on their own. We instruct teens ages 12-16 in basic cooking techniques that will serve them through adulthood. We also address the special nutritional and diet-related concerns of teens in our classes.

NuCulinary Supports the Emerald Chef Youth Program
NuCulinary directs the hands-on cooking segment of The Emerald Chef Youth Academy program, which is a 4-week after school program that helps build practical, life skills among youth of all backgrounds in Seattle. The program provides students with a series of hands-on projects and activities in heart-healthy eating, cooking, whole foods, and exercise.

The Emerald Chef Youth Academy program is a project of the Hope Heart Institute, a nonprofit cardiovascular research and education institute, and the International Community Health Services (International District Clinic), an Asian American community health clinic in Seattle. Children are enrolled into the program through Powerful Schools. We’re privileged to have the opportunity to make a difference in the program with our nutrition and culinary expertise. As chefs and nutritionists, we’re committed to the health and well-being of children.
